What This Partnership Means for Our Community

We are proud to share that the Imperial Valley LGBT Resource Center is partnering with Rambel Medical Group to offer free medical services to our community.

At a time when access to care can feel uncertain, especially for LGBTQ plus individuals and families, this partnership represents something powerful. It reflects a continued commitment to health care access, dignity, and support in Imperial Valley.

Why This Matters

Over the past few years, policies at the federal and state level have changed how certain types of care can be provided, particularly gender affirming care for minors in some states.

Because of these legal changes, puberty blockers and hormone therapy for minors may not be available through local providers in certain situations. Medical providers must follow current laws and regulations when determining what treatments they can prescribe.

It is important to be clear that these restrictions are connected to legal requirements rather than medical consensus. Many major medical organizations continue to recognize gender affirming care as evidence based when it is clinically appropriate. However, providers must operate within the law as it exists today.

What This Partnership Provides

Even when certain treatments for minors cannot be prescribed, this partnership still brings important medical services to our community. These services include general primary care, wellness exams, preventive care, referrals to specialists, and health education.

For LGBTQ plus individuals who have faced barriers or discrimination in medical settings, access to respectful and inclusive care can make a meaningful difference. Supportive medical environments can improve both physical health and mental wellbeing.

For Parents and Families

Parents and guardians seeking information about gender affirming care for their children still deserve accurate information and compassionate guidance. Medical professionals can help families understand current laws, discuss available options, and provide referrals when appropriate and legally permitted.

No family should feel alone while navigating these questions.

Moving Forward Together

Health care access is about more than prescriptions. It is about trust, community, and making sure every person feels seen and supported.

This partnership helps ensure that our community continues to have access to care, information, and guidance even as policies change. We remain committed to advocacy, education, transparency, and compassion.

Together, we continue building a healthier and stronger community.
